Guildford International Concert Season 2025/26

Welcome to the 2025/2026 Guildford International Concert Season - a celebration of classical music at Surrey’s premiere concert venue, G Live.

Once again we’re delighted to present a fantastic programme of internationally renowned orchestras alongside an exciting series of concerts by the wonderful Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Musicians from around the world join us to perform audience favourites including Grieg’s Piano Concerto, Elgar’s Enigma Variations, Piano Concerto No. 2 by Rachmaninov and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” (famously used in the Hovis advert!).

Grieg: Piano Concerto

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joins forces with acclaimed pianist Boris Giltburg for an evening of soaring melodies and musical drama at G Live

Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto No. 2  

Tue, 11 November2025, 7.30pm

The concert will begin with Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture and will end in fitting style with Tchaikovsky’s elemental Symphony No. 5, famed for its epic finale.

Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”  

Friday, 13 February 2026, 7.30pm

Chloe Hanslip, will perform Bruch’s wonderfully romantic Violin Concerto No. 1 and the second half will feature a definitive performance of Dvořák’s ever popular Symphony No. 9 from the New World. The programme will begin with Janáček’s enchanting Prelude & Pantomime from his opera The Cunning Little Vixen.

Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”

Wednesday, 18 March 2026, 7:30pm

This concert: 2 evocative short pieces by Frederick Delius – On Hearing the First Cuckoo of Spring & Summer Night on the River.  This will be followed by Beethoven’s most popular piano concerto – his grand and compelling Emperor concerto, performed by the outstanding Ukrainian pianist Maria Pukhlianko.

Elgar: Enigma Variations  

Tuesday, 7 April 2026, 7:30pm

From Finzi’s pastoral exploration of the Severn Valley to Elgar’s sweeping beauty of the Malvern Hills, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra takes us on a magnificent musical journey through English landscapes and history.

Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto

Friday, 29 May 2026, 7:30pm

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra returns to G Live with a programme of masterworks by Dvořák, Mendelssohn and Beethoven. British virtuoso violinist Jack Liebeck brings his ‘flawless technical mastery’ and a ‘beguiling silvery tone’ to Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.

We are proud to welcome back The Cheryl King Trust as our Charity Partner. The trust aims to remove financial barriers that prevent young people in Surrey learning a musical instrument. Providing bursaries for instruments and singing lessons, as well as grants to local music ensembles, G Live hopes to shine a spotlight on their work, and to inspire more young people across Surrey to experience the joy of making music.

The St Catherine’s Camerata String Orchestra showcases the exceptional talent and dedication of young musicians from St Catherine’s School. Known for their vibrant ensemble playing and polished performances, St Catherine’s Camerata will perform two classic works for string orchestra by Peter Warlock and Edward Elgar.
